Important Changes

Our Islamic Spring Retreat committee has made several changes to our original program. We sincerely apologize as we realize these changes may cause problems on such short notice. The changes are listed as follows:

i) Firstly, we have changed the speakers’ line-up. The speaker we had first contacted, Joshua  Evans will not be able to make it during our retreat. Therefore, he would be replaced with Ahmed Elkhaldy.

ii) Due to budget constraint, we could no longer provide accommodation for participants coming from outside of Iowa City at the hotel. Instead, we will be having all our participants at the houses of the committee members. Therefore, the registration fee will be the same for all participants i.e $20 per person.

iii) For those who prefer not to stay at the houses of the ISR committee members, please contact Syaza Hasbullah to assist you in getting your own accommodation in Iowa City. Her contact details are as follows:

Registration is now open

ISR 2010 is now open for registration. 
Click the Registration link above to register.
The deadline for registering is March 5th 2010. Please complete your registration before the date.
We will provide accommodation for participants coming from outside of Iowa City at Iowa House Hotel during the entire program. 
However, for those who have acquaintances in Iowa City, it is encouraged for you to stay with them
instead of at the hotel.

What's all about Islamic Spring Retreat 2010??

The Malaysian Students Society of the University of Iowa (MSSUI) together with Muslim Students Association (MSA) and Malaysian Islamic Study Group (MISG) are joining forces in organizing the Islamic Spring Retreat 2010 (ISR). It will be held from the 12th to 14th of March 2010. We aim to bring students from all over the country to explore Islam; its faith, belief and tradition. Students will take a stroll away from pressures and distractions and walk down the path of experiencing Islam as a way of life-all through the Eyes of a Muslim.
